Remember Puck Girl?

Capitals' Braden Holtby persists, makes sure young fan gets puck

That was young Washington Capitals fan Keelan Moxley, 6 at the time, who went viral with her excited reaction after she received a puck that was tossed over the glass to her during the first round of the 2018 playoffs.

But it took a while for her to get a puck because Capitals forward Brent Connolly's first two attempts during warmups were intercepted by a man and given to boys instead.

But Connolly persisted, Keelan got her puck, and her family ended up sitting with owner Ted Leonsis in Game 5 of that series against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Here's video of that incident.

Fast forward to Wednesday night, and the defending champion Capitals were facing the Vegas Golden Knights in a rematch of the Stanley Cup Final.

Goalie Braden Holtby wanted to reward another kid with a puck during the pregame warmup, but nope. His toss was intercepted by a man in a suit.

Holtby chided the man, got another puck, motioned him out of the way and this time, the goalie connected with a perfect toss.

This kid didn't have the same look of absolute joy as Keelan, but you have to appreciate Capitals players' persistence in looking out for their young fans.

And we agree with the Caps: Why does this keep happening?
